HNTB’s Tim Faerber named Legacy Award winner by ENR Midwest
Long-time engineer recognized for significant contributions and leadership within the AEC community
CHICAGO (October 10, 2017) – Tim Faerber, PE, senior vice president, has been named recipient of the 2017 Legacy Award by ENR Midwest. Faerber will be recognized during an awards luncheon in Chicago on November 29.
This annual award is presented to someone in the architecture, engineering and construction industry who has contributed significantly to their profession and local community.
“Tim’s experience, leadership and dedication to our industry make him a natural choice for this recognition,” said Dave Crosson, PE, Illinois office leader and senior vice president. “His ability to build relationships within a large cross-section of stakeholders and decision makers has helped move our industry forward, and his willingness to mentor the next generation of engineers continues to have a lasting impact on our profession.”
Faerber joined HNTB in 1983 and since then has served in a variety of significant roles, including Great Lakes Division operations officer, Illinois office leader, and Great Lakes Division President. In his current role, Faerber helps to develop and lead strategies to deliver success for clients across the country on their largest and most complex transportation infrastructure projects.
His project experience includes playing a key role on some of the Midwest’s largest infrastructure improvements, including the I-70 Mississippi River Bridge in St. Louis; reconstruction of the Marquette Interchange in Milwaukee and Dan Ryan Expressway in Chicago; and the Chicago O’Hare Modernization program.
Faerber has taken a leadership role in the industry through a variety of professional organizations, including the American Road and Transportation Builders Association. He currently serves on the Board of Directors and previously served as president of ARTBA’s Planning and Design Division where he received the Guy Kelcey Award for his “high degree of service” to the association. He also has been actively involved in the Illinois Road and Transportation Builders Association, American Society of Civil Engineers, Construction Industry Roundtable and the Construction Management Association of America.
Faerber earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Marquette University and a Master’s degree of business administration from the Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University.
