The event reinforces HNTB’s dedication to fostering local partnerships and supporting its MWBE/DBE partners
DENVER (May 17, 2024) — HNTB, a leading infrastructure solutions firm, recently hosted an open house at its Denver office. The event celebrated HNTB’s commitment to the Denver area and allowed partners to connect with new office leaders, including Del Walker, HNTB Denver office leader, and Stephen Knobbe, HNTB Northwest Division president.

The open house showcased HNTB’s commitment to equity and community improvement by inviting local small businesses, particularly those certified as Minority/Women Business Enterprises and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises. Attendees had the opportunity to engage directly with HNTB leaders and learn about upcoming projects.
“This open house not only showcased our dedication to the Denver community but also sparked conversation around how we can continue to build and strengthen our community through impactful projects and partnerships,” said Knobbe. “We look forward to working with our partners to pave the way for a more connected and resilient Denver.”
As part of its ongoing commitment to fostering inclusive growth and opportunities within the infrastructure sector, HNTB’s Denver office conducts its annual MWBE/DBE Outreach Program to build connections between local small businesses and public sector projects. The latest event welcomed over 100 individuals from 40 local firms and clients, strengthening the network of minority and women-owned enterprises and disadvantaged businesses in Denver.

Mayor Mike Johnson’s initiatives to address homelessness and support the city’s vulnerable populations, HNTB’s open house raised funds for different local charities, including The Gathering Place, Food Bank of the Rockies and the Denver Rescue Mission.
“This open house is a reflection of HNTB’s commitment to uplift the areas we serve,” said Walker. “By bringing together diverse industry players and dedicating our efforts to supporting local nonprofits, we reinforce our role in Denver not just as infrastructure experts, but as committed community partners.”
HNTB has led multiple major infrastructure initiatives in Denver, including Denver International Airport’s A&B West concourse expansion. As part of the project, HNTB designed public and private spaces complete with updated amenities. In addition, HNTB contributes to the City and County of Denver’s Water Resiliency Program, providing guidance and support to revitalize the South Platte River’s 6.5-mile stretch near downtown for ecological and habitat improvements.
