HNTB to provide construction engineering and inspections services for Route 66 Jumping Brook project in Central New Jersey

Roadway widening project will provide additional capacity to Neptune and Ocean Township, Monmouth County

PRINCETON, N.J. (Oct. 4, 2024) – HNTB has been selected by the New Jersey Department of Transportation to provide construction engineering inspection (CEI) services on a two-mile road widening project in Central New Jersey from Route 66 Jumping Brook Road to Bowne/Wayside Road.

“HNTB is eager to bring our CEI services to this roadway improvement project for NJDOT,” said Paul Pittari, construction services project director and vice president at HNTB. “This project will not only improve capacity and road conditions, but it will create a safer experience for the traveling public.”

Route 66 is a corridor leading to the summer shore areas in Monmouth County and serves as an evacuation route for the coastal regions of Monmouth County. The project will improve pavement conditions, address traffic flow/congestion and provide safety enhancements including upgrades to facilities to meet ADA requirements.

In this role, HNTB will implement quality assurance protocols and traffic control methods to help NJDOT deliver a successful project while ensuring the safety of field staff and motorists.

HNTB has been providing construction services in the transportation sector for more than a century. In the Northeast, the firm provided construction management services on the Goethals Bridge Replacement Program and for the New York City Department of Design and Construction on their BED798 water infrastructure project. Additionally, the firm has provided CEI services to signal upgrades along the Waterbury Branch of Metro-North Railroad’s New Haven Line for the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
