These IDIQ contracts present a mechanism for WMATA to achieve its short and long-term capital and operating objectives, which include reinstituting automatic train control, maximizing information technology for WMATA and its customers, and restoring Metrorail and Metrobus to the world class system the region requires. HNTB is helping WMATA achieve these goals by supporting WMATA’s annual program, facilitating a program conscious of resource limitations, and clearing a backlog of capital and operating needs. 

With WMATA’s capital improvement program growth and a goal of reducing operating costs, HNTB is supporting the development of frameworks for management, tracking and reporting on the performance of contract vehicles.
