HNTB’s Erik Blum leads panel on collaborative delivery models at Western Winter Workshop

Panel of industry experts shared insights into the benefits and challenges of collaborative delivery models, including CMGC and PDB

LOS ANGELES (March 13, 2025) – Erik Blum, senior program controls manager and vice president at HNTB, served as moderator for an expert panel at the Western Winter Workshop held in Carlsbad, California, last week. The session focused on use of collaborative delivery models, such as Construction Manager/General Contractor (CMGC) and Progressive Design-Build (PDB), utilized in infrastructure projects.

Joining Blum on the panel were distinguished industry professionals, including Monica Born, program director/deputy chief at Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority; Pavan Hotha, principal at Intueor Consulting; and HNTB colleagues Eric Olson, senior program manager, and Suresh Kataria, senior manager, risk and project controls. Together, the panel shared collective experience with collaborative delivery models, offering valuable insights into the benefits and challenges of utilizing these approaches across various infrastructure projects.
