Growth in number of professionals and projects attributes to the department’s milestone achievement
NEW YORK (Oct. 14, 2024) – HNTB’s New York office announces strategic growth milestone and the addition of professionals for its planning and mobility department. The group tripled in size since 2020, bringing on professionals with a wide range of skills and experiences from climate and sustainability; transportation and mobility planning, landscape architecture and urban design; environmental planning and compliance services; and strategic communications and stakeholder engagement.
“Our planning and mobility team brings a full suite of services to our clients in the Northeast,” said Katie Theis, associate vice president and planning and mobility department manager. “With 34 different licenses and certifications in 15 unique areas of expertise, our group offers robust and diverse skills that allow clients and communities to leverage infrastructure investments. We bring value by elevating equity, accessibility, connectivity and resiliency throughout the planning process. Our focus is on connecting people and working with communities to develop a lasting, meaningful imprint.”
Recent new professionals to this group include Renee Ducker, environmental section manager; Dong Gao, senior transportation planner; Guillermo Calves, senior transit planner; Jeff Martin, senior urban designer, Halley Ramos, architectural historian; Danny Arnold, senior environmental planner; and Ethan Kraft, community engagement specialist.
HNTB’s planning expertise is incorporated into several projects and initiatives including PANYNJ’s Newark Air Train, New York City Department of Design and Construction’s East Side Coastal Resiliency project, NJ TRANSIT’s Walter Rand Transportation Center, NYC’s Metropolitan Transportation Authority Climate Action Plan, New Jersey Turnpike Authority’s Newark Bay Hudson County Extension program, Amtrak’s Susquehanna River Bridge and Delaware River and Bay Authority’s Delaware War Memorial and more.
